Reduced wait times
We work to shorten delays so patients can move from symptoms to answers and treatment more quickly.
Founded in 2018 by board-certified rheumatologist Dr. Vedashree Panthulu, Sunshine Rheumatology and Arthritis Center was created to bring specialized care closer to patients across the Tampa Bay and Sarasota region.
Sunshine Rheumatology was founded to reduce barriers to specialty care and help patients find experienced support closer to home.
When Dr. Vedashree Panthulu founded Sunshine Rheumatology in 2018, many patients across the Tampa Bay and Sarasota region were waiting months for a rheumatology appointment or driving long distances to reach specialty care. The practice was created to close that gap.
What began as a single clinic in Sun City Center has grown into a five-location practice serving patients in Hillsborough, Manatee, and Sarasota counties — each office staffed by board-certified physicians and advanced providers who share a coordinated approach to care.
From the beginning, the practice has been guided by a simple belief: patients with autoimmune and inflammatory disease deserve timely evaluation, clear communication, and treatment plans that reflect the whole person.
Our mission is to restore quality of life through expert care, compassionate communication, and treatment planning that is both thorough and individualized.
We work to shorten delays so patients can move from symptoms to answers and treatment more quickly.
Board-certified physicians and advanced providers support a wide range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
On-site services and coordinated specialty support help patients receive more of their care through one practice.
Care plans may include education, lifestyle guidance, and long-term support alongside medical treatment.
Under Dr. Panthulu's leadership, the practice remains focused on thoughtful, evidence-based care and on bringing current treatment options to patients when they are clinically appropriate. Our providers stay current with evolving guidelines from the American College of Rheumatology, and several members of the team have presented research at national conferences.
Autoimmune conditions can take time to diagnose because symptoms often overlap and evolve. We use a combination of clinical evaluation, laboratory testing, imaging, and sometimes in-office musculoskeletal ultrasound to build a complete picture. During every visit, we take time to explain your results, how your medication works, and what changes to watch for between appointments.
"Our goal is to give every patient the knowledge, support, and treatment guidance needed to move toward meaningful, lasting improvement."
